How it works
From your words to a letter in your hands
1. Choose your dispute type
Tell us what kind of problem you're dealing with — an account that isn't yours, a late payment reported in error, a wrong balance, an outdated record, and more. You pick the situation that fits; no report upload required. Not sure what's on your file yet? Get your free credit report from AnnualCreditReport.com and check all three bureaus.
2. Describe it in your own words
Write what happened the way you'd explain it to a friend — the creditor, what's reported, and why it's wrong. If you'd like help, an optional AI helper turns your description into a short, fact-based dispute statement. It uses only what you wrote, and you review and edit every word.
3. Compare two letter styles
We prepare two versions of your letter: a short, direct option and a formal, detailed option. You choose the one that feels right — nothing is sent anywhere until you decide.
4. Download, print, and mail it yourself
Download your letter as a PDF or Word file, print it, and mail it to the credit bureau. We show you each bureau's current mailing address and a simple checklist — a copy of your photo ID, proof of address, and Certified Mail with Return Receipt. You stay in control of every mailing.
5. Track each response
After you mail the letter, come back and mark it sent, then record the bureau's reply when it arrives. If the item isn't corrected, you can prepare a follow-up letter — round 2, and if needed round 3 — with at least a month between letters.
